UPDATE: 5:08 p.m.

A home in Taylor is destroyed after a fire this morning.

Taylor, Rehobeth and Dothan firefighters arrived at the home on Trawick road around 11 a.m.

The homeowner's girlfriend was home when the fire started but was not injured.

The Taylor Volunteer Fire Department does not know how the fire started.

Firefighters say the home is destroyed.

The homeowner's insurance company is investigating the cause of the fire.

UPDATE: 12:47

The Taylor Police are on the scene of the fire.

They say that it is spreading within the house.

An officer says they are sending for another fire truck.

The American Red Cross Wiregrass chapter is sending representatives to the scene.

News 4's Cynthia Washington is on the scene.
She spoke to the owner of the home who has lived there since 1989.

He was not home at the time of the fire.

His girlfriend, however was at the home, but was not injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.


We have a reporter in route to a structure fire on Brannon Stand Rd and Trawick Rd.
