HOUSTON COUNTY - An employee at Farley Nuclear Plant in Houston County died Friday after getting hit in the head with a tent pipe.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes said the man was at the plant Friday afternoon, helping others set up for an employee picnic scheduled for Saturday. That's when a storm moved through the area with strong winds. Sheriff Hughes said the winds ripped a pipe out of one of the picnic tents. The pipe reportedly hit the man on the head, killing him on impact.

Sheriff Hughes said the man's family had been notified, but he would not release his name. We've called the coroner for that information.
