Solar-Powered Trash Compactor

Solar-powered garbage cans are now located at the 8-public beach access points in coastal Walton county.
The state-of-the-art technology uses the power of the sun to compact trash.
Once the receptacle is full, it transmits a signal to sanitation personnel to empty it.
The south Walton county tourist development council has spearheaded the effort to go with "green" technology whenever possible.
