Chief Executive Officer Bill Anderson says below average inpatient and outpatient admissions are a big reason for the shortfall.
He says some of the losses stem from an increase in the percentage of indigent care at Keller as well as the difficulty the hospital has encountered collecting patient deductibles.
Anderson says he and the financial committee of the hospital board have developed a plan they say will reduce costs and save hospital revenue. He says layoffs are not part of the plan, but some employees may work fewer hours.
