Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Including Houston County and Dothan

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for several wiregrass counties, including Houston County, until 12:30am Central Time/1:30am Eastern.

At 12:25am Central Time, the National Weather Service detected a large line of strong to severe thunderstorms producing winds up to or beyond 60 miles per hour. These storms have a history of blowing down power lines in Miller County--specifically in the Colquitt area.

Locations in the path of this storm include Columbia, Abbeville, Ashford, Georgetown, Wire Bridge, Jinks, Headland, Cowarts, Kinsey, Cottonwood, Marianna, and Dothan.

Stay inside a sturdy structure and remain away from windows.
