Our Family for Families First, a private has awarded ten $50,000 college scholarships to outstanding high school students.

This year marks the eighth class of Our Future scholarship recipients. Since its founding in 2006 by Corvias Group CEO John Picerne, the Foundation has awarded more than $4.5 million in scholarships to the families of active-duty service members.

The two students from this year's class are Enterprise High School student graduates.

Trey Davis played basketball, football and baseball, at Enterprise High School and served as a People to People Student Ambassador to several countries. Davis plans to study finance at Indiana State University. His father is Maj. Marvin D. Davis.

Victoria Leon played volleyball, basketball, softball at Enterprise High School. She was also a Future Business Leader of America. Leon will attend Florida State University to pursue a career as a pediatrician. Her stepfather is Chief Warrant Officer 3 Cesar Liriano.

The scholarships provide reliable, recurring financial assistance over each student’s four years of study, as well as a support network that is committed to his or her academic and professional growth. Students receive scholarships in the amount of up to $12,500 per year for four years to pursue a secondary education at colleges and universities around the country.

“The caliber of students applying for our scholarships is exceptional,” said Maria Montalvo, Foundation executive director. “All of the applicants are hard-working students who are active in their schools and communities and more than deserving of a college scholarship. The selection process is difficult but we look forward to welcoming these new scholars into our Foundation family.”

The ten graduating seniors are the children of active-duty service members stationed at Forts Bragg in North Carolina, Meade in Maryland, Polk in Louisiana, Riley in Kansas, Fort Rucker in Alabama, and Sill in Oklahoma.
