A partnership between Alabama Aircraft Support, LLC (AAS) and the Alabama Aviation Center (AAC), a unit of Enterprise State Community College (ESCC), will provide an opportunity for students to receive a $2,000 scholarship to pay for in-state tuition, fees, and/or books. Two scholarships will be available to students entering the AAC from high school as well as those that are continuing or returning to college.
“I am excited that our students have the opportunity to not only receive financial assistance to attend the Alabama Aviation Center, but to begin their education with a connection to a growing local aviation industry,” says Veronica Crock, ESCC Dean of Planning, Information Services, and Institutional Effectiveness. “This partnership is indicative of the strong relationships the College has with local business and industry, like AAS.”
Eligible students must be enrolled in the Airframe Technology, Powerplant Technology, or Avionics Technology program at one of the AAC locations. Recipients must enroll in the fall semester immediately following the awarding of this scholarship and take a minimum number of credit hours as specified in the Scholarship Award Notification. Residents of Dale and Coffee counties will be given preference.
“As a leader in the Helicopter Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul business, our mission is to become the industry leader in customer satisfaction, on time deliveries, quality repair and products to our customers. Providing financial assistance to an individual that has the same objectives in mind is the first step to our becoming a world class organization,” said Ronnie Kearns, President of Alabama Aircraft Support, LLC. “We are thrilled to have an opportunity to partner with Alabama Aviation Center and ESCC to enhance the preparedness of an individual wishing to break into this high demand occupational field.”
