Two dollars won't buy you much these days, but the Salvation Army and Davis Theatre in Dothan, offered movie-goers a deal they couldn't refuse.
For the small cost of three cans of food participants got to watch a movie with refreshments included.
The annual canned food movie day provides a way for families to spend time together, while helping those less fortunate.
"We had cans and cans of food that we had to sort out because it came in so fast. It gets right in our hands and we can get it to theirs,” said Captain Jani Criss with the Salvation Army.
Captain Jani Criss says, the organization collected more than 35 boxes of food Saturday morning, which is a slight decrease from past years.
