“We got everybody covered. Every child on the angel tree has been covered.” Salvation Army Major Cheryl Phillips said.

Despite the wind chill this morning, salvation army volunteers were moving as fast as they could, distributing toys to all families in need.

The line of cars waiting to pick up a holiday meal and toys for their family stretched around the peanut festival fairgrounds.
But it seems the community's generosity stretched even further.
And that's just what the Salvation Army was hoping for.

“We got everybody covered. Every child on the angel tree has been covered.” Salvation Army Major Cheryl Phillips said.

This means every child on the tree gets a present...
And that means Salvation Army volunteers are going to have a busy day ahead of them.

“I go get some bags and I take them out to people’s cars.” Salvation Army volunteer Cole Crook said.

“It’s going very well. We got some wonderful volunteer help, were excited, folks are happy and kids are going to be smiling.” Phillips said.

But it's not only families who are walking away happy. Volunteers say helping others puts them in the holiday spirit.

“It makes me feel good.” Crook said.

Salvation Army volunteers say they were very pleased with this year's turnout and they hope to do the same next year.

Volunteers say just because the distribution ended this afternoon, they will continue to raise money for those in need.
