Stage hands prepare for the first ever River Oak Music Festival.
Promoters hope folks will take a break from Christmas shopping and catch some top line country entertainment.
It's on a 30-acre site adjacent to Robert Fowler Park.
Several Nashville recording artists with Wiregrass roots' will perform.
"The success of an event is the support. and we have received fantastic support from elected officials to police chiefs and everyone else involved here,” said 340 Entertainment Promotions, Justin Andrews.
Gates open at 5:00 Friday night for the two day festival.
Rain or frigid cold will not postpone the music.
Geneva restaurants and other businesses have added temporary employees.
It's hope for the register to jingle.
"We hope it'll bring us new business and we would be proud to have it," said Carol's Seafood & Steaks Owner, Carol Powell.
Geneva Mayor Philip Carter says he hopes to possibly bring out-of-towners who will see the city of two rivers and want to relocate.
Authorities are encouraging festival goers' to stay in their vehicles or campers and not to drink and drive.
Weekend pass packages are available at river oaks golf course, as well as the festival entry gate
