It’s not uncommon for Rip Hewes Stadium to be decorated before an upcoming home game, but on Friday morning a side of the stadium was vandalized.
Spray painted symbols, body parts and racial slurs covered the home side of the stadium.
Three grounds keepers were busy painting over the images around 9:30 a.m. They say this kind of incident is a first for them.
When the incident happened and who is responsible for it is still unknown.
In addition to Rip Hewes Stadium, a classroom of a Rehobeth School was vandalized as well as a Taylor church. The Houston County Sheriff's Office is looking into both incidents that took place earlier this week.
The Pastor of Taylor Assembly of God Church, Andy Wood says that the incident caught him off guard but it didn't shake him.
"At first I was thinking just silly stuff and when I got here I saw this it was pentagrams, satanic signs and Satan is god Satan is love, silly stuff like that. The vile things, some graphic pictures and kind of heartbreaking you know," said Wood.
Although the images on the church were disturbing, Pastor Wood says the Congregation is not letting the incident in their way. Close to 50 people attended a prayer meeting on Wednesday night and he says they prayed for the people that did this to their church.
