If you have a brick or concrete mailbox and live in Houston County, you may soon have to get rid of it.
During Houston County's Commission meeting they discussed Right of Way Encroachment Policy.
The policy would not allow any permanent mailboxes to be in a right of way.
A right of way is about 30-40 feet from the center of a road.
Only mailboxes with wooden posts no bigger than four inches in diameter are allowed.
The county will inform you when you need to move your mailbox.
They will even move it for you if necessary.
