Retail Sales Declining

Retails sales fell last month as shoppers spent less money on cars.

The Commerce Department says overall sales dropped .2 percent in May.

That's the first lower number in almost a year another sign that the economy is slowing.

Auto sales were down almost 3 percent due to a cutback in supplies caused by the Japan earthquake.

If you leave out cars retail sales actually increased 0.3 percent.
