Houston County officials are improving local roadways and bringing more jobs to the area.
It's part of a state-funded program called "A-trip."
"A-trip" is the largest road and bridge program in Alabama's history.
Phase one of the project will repave Rocky Creek Road from Hickory Grove Road to U.S. Highway 84.
More than $100-million in state funding will be available for road and bridge projects in phase one across the state.
In Dothan, resurfacing will start at Range Street from Ross Clark Circle to Spring Street.
