Restaurants Cutting Calories

Don't be surprised if you see some new lower calorie options at your favorite restaurant.

A new government rule is expected to take effect by the end of the year requiring big restaurant chains to post calorie counts.

The LA Times reports several food joints are cutting calories ahead of the change.

A few examples:
IHOP is now serving a turkey bacon and egg whites breakfast.

Panera Bread has cut back on the mayo and bread in its sandwiches.

And Starbucks is offering some smaller cakes and donuts.
