MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Gov. Robert Bentley says Alabama insurance regulators will not enforce consumer protection provisions of the federal health care overhaul law. Bentley recently wrote a letter to federal officials saying Washington, not state regulators in Montgomery, will be responsible for enforcing the law.
FAIRHOPE, Ala. (AP) -- Hundreds of people are volunteering to help with a major marine restoration project along Alabama's coast. About 700 people signed up to help build a new section of oyster reef on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay on Saturday. The restored areas will provide habitat for fish, birds and shellfish.

QUINCY, Mass. (AP) -- Dozens of sea turtles that stranded off Cape Cod last fall are headed south, where rescuers plan to release them in waters off northeast Florida.
A caravan was scheduled to leave from the New England Aquarium's Animal Care Center in Quincy on Saturday with 37 turtles. It then planned stops in Connecticut, Maryland and Virginia to pick up a total of nine more rescued turtles.
The aquarium said the caravan was expected to arrive in the Jacksonville, Fla., area on Sunday.
A group of 242 cold-stunned turtles washed up on Massachusetts beaches last November and December. That's more than three times the amount that typically strand.
The threatened and endangered turtles have since been rehabilitated and this weekend's move is the last major transport of turtles that stranded last fall.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida A&M University officials are set to interview two finalists to lead the school's famed marching band. The search committee plans to meet with them Monday. They are former Ohio University music professor Sylvester Young and Don Roberts, who is the instrumental music coordinator for Dekalb County School District in Georgia.
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Four people were killed when a man being pursued by police drove into opposing traffic on a South Florida highway. The four victims were in a minivan struck head-on early Wednesday on Interstate 95 by an SUV. The SUV's driver suffered two broken legs in the crash. He faces four counts of vehicular homicide.

ALBANY, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities in southwest Georgia say a man on a motorcycle led a sheriff's deputy on a chase for several miles before the fleeing cyclist lost control and crashed. Authorities say the rider was taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't life-threating. His name was not immediately released.
FORT VALLEY, Ga. (AP) -- A police officer in middle Georgia has claimed a $1 million prize playing the lottery. 25-year-old Marshallville Officer Tinichia Story says she "couldn't believe it" when the scratch-off ticket was a winner. She plans to spend her prize money on her nieces and nephews and a tote bag for her Yorkshire terrier puppy.
