Lottery store owners say this week has been different from most high Powerball jackpots.
“It’s slow for that big jackpot real slow for that big jackpot.” Convenient store owner Barry Patel said.
You would think that with the winning fantasy five tickets being sold here that business would be booming, but owners say it’s the opposite.
“The Powerball we have no activity, we are slow right now, but I hope they come later on after work, but so far it’s slow.” Patel said.
Alabama resident Stuart Ibberson says when he pulled up, he was concerned too.
“There’s no one here today, the last time I was out here when it was this high, the entire parking lot was full and everyone was from Alabama so it’s different.” Powerball ticket buyer Stuart Ibberson said.
But for Ibberson, he says the fewer people who buy a ticket, the better his chances are of winning.
“Hopefully I win and we don’t have the lottery in Alabama so we have to come over to Georgia to get tickets.”
And if Ibberson wins the Powerball jackpot, he already has a plan for how he would spend it.
“My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary is this weekend and I would like to do something special for them. Some to the church and retire.” Ibberson said.
But until that win happens, Ibberson will continue to participate in the lottery drawings.
The current estimated jackpot is around 320-million dollars.
