Heavy rain led to ponding in yards and roadways in parts of Pike County on Monday, August 19th, 2013.
Monday evening, a heavy storm brought very heavy rain and lightning to parts of Pike County, including Goshen and Troy.
At around 5:50pm, the storm began to move from Crenshaw County into Pike County, peaking in intensity around 6:45pm.
The storm did not prompt a warning, but produced extremely heavy rain in a short amount of time. Flat surfaces were drenched with large, heavy puddles and drainage pipes and ditches flowed with large amounts of water.
Radar estimates placed the rainfall near the Goshen area at 1.75” of rain total from the storm.
