The Poplar Head Farmer's market is in full swing.
Of course you can get your standard fresh produce like tomatoes, squash, and peaches, but there are a few new features.
The Alabama watermelon queen was passing out slices of fresh and grilled watermelon today.
Also, a new booth was selling their homemade seasoning along with grilled chicken wings, veggies, and peaches.
The live music made the entire market feel like a party.
“Farmers markets are so important because it gets the local produce out. It's not commercialized. It's straight from the field to the consumers. It's so good to be out here and get to see all of the hard work and seeing all the farmers. They just love being out here and interacting with the crowd,” said Amber Nolin, Alabama’s Watermelon Queen.
The market is open ever Saturday through the end of the month from 8 a.m. until noon.
