Police Arrest Man They Say Gave Beer to Child

FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - Police have arrested a northwest Alabama man on charges that he gave alcohol to a 10-year-old.

The TimesDaily newspaper reports that 27-year-old Billy Wade Heatherly Jr. of Florence faces a number of charges in the incident.

Authorities say Heatherly was arrested around midnight Friday when police responded to calls about a disturbance at his home. When officers go to the home, they were told Heatherly had given
the boy vodka and beer to drink.

Officers say the boy and his brother were at the home visiting a family friend who was at the store when the incident happened.

Police say Heatherly has denied the allegations.

Police also found marijuana at the home. A woman at the home was arrested on misdemeanor marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges.

There are actually disgusting parents who let their children drink too. I can't understand the lesson behind this one.
