Ozark, AL - Police have been investigating this robbery for about a week and a half. Now they are releasing surveillance video with hopes someone will recognize the suspect.
The robbery happened Saturday, December 22 around 8 p.m. Police say a black man entered the Shell Station at that intersection of Deese Road and Highway 231 in Ozark.
The cashier said he tried to purchase a piece of candy, and when the cash register was opened he pulled a gun out and demanded money.
The suspect is believed to be in his early to mid 20's. His face was uncovered.
A couple of things to notice on the suspect: he was wearing a long gold chain and hat with ear flaps. Police say these types of details usually help identify a suspect.
This case is a priority to the Wiregrass Violent Crimes Tax Force.
"Not only just to solve the crime, but you had an innocent person who had a gun put in their face. Not only that, but you have a lot of businesses that get nervous, especially this time of year," said Captain Marlos Walker.
Although no one was inside, there was someone at a gas pump. That person saw the suspect leave in a tan or beige 4 door sedan traveling towards Dothan.
A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
