TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) -- Tuskegee police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left five people wounded, including a high school freshman.

Reports suggest that residents in the neighborhood are coming together to try and stop the violence.

They say a silver car drove into the complex around 6 p.m. on Sunday. Within seconds, a driver armed with an assault rifle opened fire.

Police say five people were injured and taken to the hospital. All five victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries and have been released. Among them is a 14-year-old freshman at Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee.

Police say they have a person of interest, but no arrests have been made.
