Although they cannot purchase guns legally in Alabama, 18-year-old’s can apply for a concealed carry permit as part of the state’s new gun law.
Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes says that is just one of the changes his office has been dealing with. The concealed carry permit can also now be renewed in increments up to five years.
Since many people will be carrying a permit longer, they have done away with paper permits. Instead, people will be issued a permit similar to a driver’s license.
