Dwaine Stuart tried calling, but no one at his mom's house was picking up.

Stuart said, “When I can't get her on the phone, something bad's wrong.”

Tornado warnings were everywhere Tuesday night in Pike County. So Stuart got in his car and drove down the road to his mom's house.

When he got there, the house she lived in for 26 years was gone.

Luckily, Stuart’s mom was okay.

Stuart said, “She got up to get a drink of water and a tree went straight through her bed. She started heading to the bathroom and that's when everything started collapsing.”

Now the community is cleaning up and getting tons of help from neighbors like Lawanda Bell.

Bell said, “Right now, we're just gathering clothes and food and bringing them whatever they need.”

Stuart says he's grateful the storm took what they can replace.

Stuart said, “The only thing we needed out of that house was her.”
