Pieces to his poultry farm went everywhere.

But one by one, Donald Wilkes is picking them up and moving on.

A tornado Sunday wiped out four of his barns, tossed around equipment and left Wilkes with a huge mess.

Wilkes said,” It wasn't just a few seconds and it was gone.”

Gone, but the bad weather isn't leaving. Still, Wilkes and his team are keeping their chins up.

Daniel Coleman said, “You can't wallow in self pity, you just have to pick it up and go on.”

He means it too. Both Wilkes and Coleman were out cleaning up as soon as it was safe.

The Department of Agriculture wouldn't speak with us on camera, but Wilkes says they're looking at the damage and he's hoping for the best.

Wilkes said, ”We have insurance on the poultry houses, but fencing and things of that nature they may be able to assist me with; they just looked at the damage done to the fencing.”

Even with a good attitude, the damage is done.

Wilkes concluded, “It's just heartbreaking cause it's a lot of work that's gone in here, from the poultry houses to the barn to the fences to the cattle. It's disheartening, but we gotta be thankful that no one was hurt.”

Heartbroken, but thankful the tornado left the things they can replace.
