Carroll High School Football Coach Stacy Watters was killed in a car accident in Orlando, Florida on Thursday morning. Watters and his 10-year-old son Quinton were killed when their vehicle was struck by a box truck.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers shut State Road 520 after the fatal crash. Officials said that Watters' car pulled out in front of the truck on State Road 520.

Watters and his 10-year-old son were pronounced dead at the scene. Watters' 7-year-old son, Jai, was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital.

Watters was beginning his second year at Carroll. He posted a 3-7 record in his first year as the coach of the Eagles.

He graduated from West Alabama. Watters had previous coaching stops at Sumter County, where he was the head coach from 2004-2008. He spent 2010 as an assistant at Linden, before taking the Carroll job in 2011.

Stacey Watters was one of the finest people I have had the opportunity to be associated with. He was the extra mile person every place he has been, going the extra mile to help a young person. He expressed to me how much he love Carroll, the people he worked with and most of all the young people. It will be a while before we see another Stacey Watters come our way.

We can only pray that God will comfort us all who was touched by his presence. We pray that God in his own time will heal us all and cause us to walk closer to him.

I don't know anyone involved but my heart goes out to this family, friends, and students. I know God is not a God of mistakes and its hard to understand why. But I pray his life impacts all that came in contact with him to turn to God for spiritual guidance through this. My heart goes out to all.
