Sales tax collections are in for the city of Ozark, and things don't look great.

The city collected $497,740 in sales taxes this July.

Last July, they collected $504,193.

That's down about 1.3 percent.

Local business owners say they can see the difference at the cash register.

One man says business has been slow.

“It started off in mid June and sales have went down quite a bit all summer long. With the sun coming back out it's picked up quite a bit. The rainy days have really put a dent in the business,” said Brian Padgett, Hawg N Dawgz BBQ Owner.

The city has seen increases in sales tax collections in six of the past ten months.
