UPDATE: State Fire Marshal Issues Cease & Desist Order to Little Harlem Night Club

UPDATE 6/17/2014 1:03 P.M.

Opp Fire Chief Cory Spurlin says the state fire marshal’s office conducted an investigation and found several violations. A cease and desist order was issued to the owner of the club of any business-related activities inside. If the owner gets the building up to standard, he can request a re-examination of the club by the state fire marshal.

OPP, AL - The decision to revoke the license of an Opp night club in the wake of a deadly shooting has been tabled.

Demetrice Hines was shot and killed at the Little Harlem Night Club on June 8th. The incident happened during a private birthday party. Kanavis Cole was charged with Hines' murder.

The Opp City Council met this morning to discuss revoking the club's business license. The decision was tabled, but the state fire marshal is expected to serve the club a cease and desist order.
