Hundreds of people turned out to Walton Park recreation center in Dothan.
They were treated to a free meal, gifts and live entertainment. The event was part of Operation Angel.
District One County Commissioner Curtis Harvey brought back the program after three years, because he says it's community empowerment.
"Alot of them are overwhelemed, they have come up to me. They publicly thanked me, you know I didn't do this by myself, it was collaborative effort from the entire community, it took everybody," says Harvey.
Harvey would like to thank local businesses that helped out. He plans on sponsoring another community event next year.
