A north Alabama man is facing federal charges over alleged fraud linked to the deadly tornado outbreak that hit Alabama last year.
Authorities say 40-year-old Tracy Dewayne Whittle is charged with making a fraudulent representation to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in an application for disaster assistance.
Whittle is accused of wrongly claiming that he was living in a rental home in Hartselle that was damaged in a tornado on April 27.
Court records aren't yet available online to show whether Whittle has a lawyer.
