Government employees who work for the city of Headland will will soon be under a new insurance plan.
Government employees will be under a new Blue Cross Blue Shield policy.
Gibson says the change in insurance will save the city$48,000 a year.
Those who have family plans will save about $1,300.
The new plan will add more vision and also offer a supplemental dental plan.
"We will have meeting with employees to see if they have any concerns but right now it is kind of evenly matched, you get more for your money [employees] will be saving money, the city will be saving money," said Crystal Gibson, city clerk.
Gibson said in 2015 the policy should be offered to part-time employees as well.
