The Dale County Sheriff’s office will soon have a new home.
The Dale County Commission approved their move from the basement of the courthouse to the EMA and E-911 building across the street.
There was not enough room for the department in their old space.
Now all the investigators and deputies will be under one roof. The move also benefits the larger community.
“And it also frees up a tremendous amount of parking on the south side of the court house because all of that parking will be moved to the backside of the Creel Richardson building,” said Dale Co. Commission Chairman Mark Blankenship.
There are a few touch-ups that need to be done at the EMA building.
The department is anticipated to move in the next couple months.
