Severe storms that raked across North Alabama and southern Tennessee Thursday night produced a total of 8 tornadoes, the National Weather Service reported Sunday after studying the storm damage.
There were seven EF1 tornadoes throughout the region and one EF2. The most severe tornado touched down at the Jet Polymer Plant off of Gault Avenue in Fort Payne, flipping three large tractor trailers and damaging several structures. One trailer ended up on a roof while a nearby metal building had its siding and roof torn off as well as other damage.
