It's that time of year. The National Peanut Festival is back. While some come for the peanuts and others come to indulge in the ever-popular fair food, the real adventure-seekers out there come for something else...the rides. Richard Reithoffer knows this and that's why he's planned ahead for this year's festivities by purchasing the Stinger.
"Reithoffer Shows bought the plans on this ride over three years ago." Three years that he hopes will have been well worth the wait.
"They asked us if we'd be interested in purchasing one of these rides when it was nothing but a dream on the architect's drawing board." A dream that now stands tall on the Midway at the National Peanut Festival here in Dothan.
When traveling through the fair it's hard to find the perfect ride but riders like George Moran knows safety should always be on your checklist. "The safety bars and seatbelts...and I see the people everyday who help put them together."
And he isn't the only one with safety on his mind. "Safety is number one...there's nothing more important than having a safe program."
Well that and having a lot of fun.
Whether you come to the National Peanut Festival every year or this is your first time, Reithoffer says there are some things out here that you just gotta see to believe.
"This year's peanut festival is probably gonna be the widest array of super spectacular and spectacular rides of any midway in North America."
And he hopes you and your family will come get in on the action.
