June 27th is National HIV Testing Day and one organization was testing Wiregrass residents for free.
Medical AIDS Outreach hosted a block party with music, games and HIV testing.
The goal of the event was to get the word out about the importance of knowing you HIV status.
"It is very important to know your status, knowing you status is empowering if you know you are negative there are ways to stay that way, we give you preventative measures at our office and if you are positive we can get you in to care, we have a full clinic at our office" said Neice Danzey, Health Educator at Medical AIDS Outreach.
Medical AIDS Outreach provides social and medical HIV education.
