DOTHAN, AL--A high speed chase with multiple agencies responding ended after police successfully forced the driver off the road.

"He put a lot of people's lives in danger fleeing from law enforcement the way he was we got into an area where we could perform a pit maneuver and removed the subject from the highway," said Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes says it all started Wednesday morning in Ozark.
Police received a call of a suspicious person, possibly a burglary in progress.
Authorities issued a BOLO for the car the suspect was driving.

"Ozark police encountered the vehicle on 231 near Logan Road in Ozark, said Hughes, and attempted to stop the vehicle, the subject fled and proceeded south into Houston County."

The suspect is Fontez Curlee.
Sheriff Hughes says Curlee is currently out on bond for burglary.
He was arrested for two burglaries in Ashford several months ago.

"This is one of these individuals that just won't work for a living out breaking in people's houses during the day, said Hughes, while they're at work trying to make an honest living."

Sheriff Hughes says he's working to put a stop to that kind of activity.

"We're going to get his bond revoked and keep him in the Houston County Jail and see what charges are pending from Ozark and Dale County also," Hughes added.

Sheriff Hughes says officers did recover items and jewelry from and near the car and they're working on finding out if they were stolen.

Sheriff Hughes says Curlee had minor injuries.
He was taken to an area hospital by deputies before he was booked.

Ozark police, Houston County Sheriff's deputies, Alabama State Troopers, Dothan police and the Dale County Sheriff's Office assisted in the chase.
