Riley Cannon, 3, reads a book with Donna Halbert at The Potter's Hand Learning Center at 173 Society St. in Leesburg.

The Morris Slingluff Readers want you to join their reading program.

They're seeking people and businesses to adopt a Dothan school and commit to reading for one hour a week.

The group was founded in honor of Morris Slingluff who read to children for more than 20-years.

"He stated how important it is to be involved in your community but first and foremost be involved in public education," said Kany Groover, Slingluff Readers Founder.

The Slingluff Readers' goal is to have volunteers on a weekly basis in every Dothan elementary school.
