Montgomery Farm Family Receives Statewide Honor

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Jeremy and Lindsey Brown of Montgomery
and their two daughters, 2-year-old Ansley and two-month-old Lydia
Grace, have been named Alabama's outstanding young farm family by
the Alabama Farmer's Federation

The Browns are poultry farmers and were presented the award this week during the federation's annual meeting in Mobile. The Browns have 132,000 birds in six poultry houses on their farm in Montgomery County.

The federation has been recognizing farmers between the ages of 18 and 35 and their families for 54 years. Jeremy Brown is the youngest member of the state poultry committee and has been chairman of the Montgomery County poultry committee.

Farmer's Federation officials cited the family's enthusiasm for agriculture in naming the Browns the winning family.
