It appears the head of Microsoft may have some loose lips.
C-E-O Steve Ballmer said in Tokyo this week that Windows 8 will go on sale next year.
But shortly after he said that the computer company retracted it saying that's not true.
Microsoft likely fears that people will stop buying the popular Windows 7 software if they know something better is coming soon.
During Ballmer's revelation he said employees are hard at work on the next version of Windows and it will be released on slates, tablets and PCs.
