Nationwide, the American Heart Association is using heart month as a platform for raising awareness of heart disease.

It's the number one killer of men and women across America.

"In order to protect your heart, you got to eat better, move and for the most part stop smoking, when it comes to fighting heart disease and stroke you're the cure," said Michael Jackson.

Roughly one out of every three deaths this year in the united states will result from heart disease or stroke.
