BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say a man has been killed in a house fire in the Robinwood community of north Birmingham.
Witnesses tell WBRC-TV that the man died after he ran back into the burning house.
Neighbors described hearing two or three explosions seconds after flames erupted from the home around 11 a.m. Monday.
They say the man who died didn't live at the house, but was staying there Monday night.
They say he was running back inside the house to try and put out the flames.
The man's name wasn't immediately released by authorities.
