Man Charged in Connection with Killing Five People

Police say a 17-year-old Birmingham man has been charged in connection with the five men who were killed in a weekend house shooting. Authorities said late Tuesday in a news release that five capital murder warrants with no bond have been obtained against suspect Rashad Stoves of Birmingham. Police say two first-degree robbery warrants and an attempted murder warrant in two unrelated cases have been obtained against Stoves. Earlier Tuesday, police identified the victims from the early Sunday shooting as 19-year-old Demetrius Sanford; 23-year-old Jeffery Davis Jr.; 42-year-old Ronnie James Render; 23-year-old Jonathan Sanchez; and 21-year-old Charles Render.
