A Dothan man is arrested on robbery and assault charges.
Police say 28-year-old Rashawn Lewis was breaking into a car, when the owner's boyfriend got home.
Police say Lewis demanded money from him, assaulted him and shot him in the leg.
Police say Lewis tried to run away, but didn't get far.
"Despite his injury the victim was able to pursue the suspect and did take him to the ground and held him to the ground and additionally called police, giving us the second call as officers were in route." Dothan Police Sergeant Rachel David said.
Lewis is charged with first-degree armed robbery, second-degree assault, and breaking into a car.
Bond was set at 750-thousand dollars.
