MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Police have charged a 34-year-old man with stealing the brass fittings from a Mobile fire truck.
Authorities said Brent Corey Dyson took $1,000 worth of metal last week from a truck parked in the rear of a fire station.
Police said several vehicles were also broken into at the station.
Police said they caught Dyson when he attempted to sell the brass at a local scrap metal dealer.
The Mobile Press-Register reports that Dyson has been charged with three counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and one count of second-degree theft of property.
He was ordered held in jail without bond.
