OZARK -- Florida State University Linebackers Coach and Special Teams Coordinator Charles Kelly grew up in Ozark. While he prepares for Monday's BCS Championship game, his family and friends remember the journey that has led him to Pasadena.
Lavon Kelly has a broad background in coaching football, even starting the Houston Academy program.
He said Charles always tagged along to games with him.
"He used to follow me to all the games, he used to go to all the all star games with me in Tuscaloosa," Lavon Kelly said.
Charles Kelly graduated from G.W. Long and pursued a college degree at Auburn University. Not only did he play football at Auburn, he met his wife there as well. She's also an Ozark resident.
"I'm the father of his wife," Ozark resident Taylor Caffey said. "He and Kristy were at Auburn together, they they got together and thought they'd make a life out of it, and they've done a pretty good job.
Charles, his wife and daughters have arrived in Pasadena and most of the family has the trip to California planned out. Lavon Kelly said he will enjoy the game with his wife from the comforts of their home.
