COFFEE COUNTY -- A group of local boy scouts spent the day learning to shoot rifles, shot guns, muzzleloaders, as well as shoot bows and arrows during a winter shooting camp on Monday.
They said it's important to learn how to properly handle a firearm. Gun safety instructors and scout instructors assisted the boys and girls with their firearms to teach them how to properly load it, turn off the safety and shoot.
Instructors said this is an important practice so that the young men and women can properly assist younger cub and boy scouts during the week-long camps in the summer.
