DOTHAN, AL--Tuesday managers from local businesses attended an 8 hour business continuity and emergency management course at Troy University's Dothan campus.

The classes covered hurricanes, tornadoes, terrorist attacks and other disasters.

"More than 40 percent of the business that suffer a disaster don't come back so hopefully with this program we're putting on today people will learn if they do suffer some sort of catastrophe within their business they'll be able to recover and resume serving the community," said Troy University-Dothan Public Safety Coordinator Jim Smith.

Some attendees included representatives from local hospitals, Wiregrass Commons Mall and university personnel.
