Lewis Colbert a famous punter for the auburn tigers came to the southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.
He did this because he wants to express how important getting yearly screenings can be.
Colbert had a family history of clogged arteries, and he always figured it would never happen to him, but he was wrong.
He went and got checked and sure enough an artery in his neck was 55 percent blocked.
Now, he wants to send the message to all men, that being tough should not be an option when it comes to your health.
"It gives people an opportunity to get in the door and get a screening and get tested and in most cases, I hate to admit it, but men seem to put it aside, you know I’ll be ok I will be alright. But sometimes is doesn’t work out that way and I’m a living example."
Colbert was put in medication and his arteries are now 100 percent clear.
Colbert says being proactive can save your life.
The medical center will hold its 21st free men’s health screening on Saturday august 25th at the Dothan civic center from 8 a.m to 11 a.m.
