Henry County has a new school superintendent.
Voters elected Lesa Knowles Tuesday.
She is already serving as the interim superintendent and special education coordinator.
Knowles is the first female to be elected to the position in Henry County.
"I definitely want to keep us moving forward with our technology, and helping our students be college and career ready. Also I want to work with the Alabama standards, the common core standards, and help our students go forward in those areas," said Knowles.
She's worked for 30 years in the Henry County school system.
