At Houston County’s Children's Policy Council meeting, members had some exciting news to pass around.
The council presented a kindergarten readiness brochure, which is a new tool they hope to give parents.
The brochure has a checklist which will allow parents to see what skills their children need to learn before kindergarten.

"If we want our children to succeed, we have to get them started on the right foot. If they’re behind when they start, it’s hard to catch up. We are going to start by having our kindergarteners ready for school."
Ben Slingluff said.

30-thousand copies will be distributed throughout Houston County.
